The Gallows Cove Band consists of Linda Reddy on keyboard, Leo Reddy on mandolin and guitar, Bernie Denine on accordion and Joe Molloy on vocals and guitar. They’ve been playing together, on and off, for about 25 yrs. Over the years they’ve played many gigs ranging from St Patrick’s Day concerts, nursing homes, various community functions and, of course, more than a few kitchen parties. They took a break from playing as a group for a few years and recently decided to give it another go.
Linda spent several years teaching piano and as organist at Holy Trinity and other local churches. While Bernie plays accordion with the group, he also enjoys playing guitar and banjo. He has provided music for Torbay concerts, The Outer Cove Concert Crowd and the Torbay Folk Arts Society. Leo and Joe started playing together in the 60’s with a rock band, Joy, playing at local clubs and dances. Leo played bass with the band, but also plays acoustic guitar and over the years has learned the mandolin. After his years with Joy, Joe spent 20 years with The Commanders Band and has long been a favorite at all the Molloy parties. Of course Leo and Joe’s repertoire has changed substantially since then!
Over the years, Linda, Leo, Joe and Bernie have generously given of their time, and still do, to entertain at community events, nursing homes and local concerts. You can check them out at their next gig at the Traditional Coffee House.
